In fact, all the national specialists of urban mysteries, notably Stephen Knight, David L. At the same time, however, as prior works on cultural transfers have shown, for example those of Michel Espagne and Pascale Casanova in France, such international studies are absolutely necessary, and often highlight not only national particularities, but also international cultural and political hegemonies. In the case of the relations between France and the United States, such study is all the more significant in that the relation is hardly one-sided.
